OK, I started this quite a while back and then dropped the ball, but I’m going to try picking up the 30 Day Song Challenge again as a weekly project.
Song Challenge Week 13 — A Song That Is A Guilty Pleasure
“Tik Tok,” Ke$ha
I was at a regional country-western dance festival in Atlanta, as one is wont to be sometimes.
(Long story. If you weren’t around for it, don’t worry about it.)
I was aware that there was a “Ke$ha” that existed, and possibly that she had a song called “Tik Tok,” but I can’t swear to that latter bit.
But one of the sessions at the event was famed line-dance choreographer Guyton Mundy teaching his new dance for the song. I didn’t attend the session myself, but it meant that it was one of *the* things to dance at the open dance that night, and I heard it then.
I left Atlanta the next day, but “Tik Tok” insidiously buried itself in my head for the trip home, and stayed there thereafter.
After time, we reached a sort of detente, in which I listen to it from time to time in exchange for it not wedging itself into my brain too often.
I think that’s fair.

Guyton is an amazing dancer and a really nice person. Next time you go to an event, be sure to attend his class
